Youth Employment Service gets a boost
The Youth Employment Service (YES) got a boost this week. The Codes of Good Practice for the Youth Employment Service (YES) were published on Tuesday.
You can download them from here.
YES is a business-led initiative supported by Government and Labour. The purpose of the YES campaign is to get young black people into jobs and so significantly impact youth unemployment.
With these new regulations companies can lift their levels of BEE recognition by meeting targets as laid out in the gazette. SMMEs (less than 50 million Rand turnover) can also benefit. They can apply to take on youth employees sponsored by other larger companies.
This should create a significant incentive for companies to take on and integrate young people in their organisations.
